Gary L. Ashburn
Gary L. Ashburn, 75 a 42 year resident of Palatine passed away peacefully, surrounded by loved ones, on December 7, 2011. He was born on March 2, 1936 in Garnett, KS. Loving husband of Jilayne (nee: Pries); beloved son of Rene Morris; devoted father of Steven (Joan) Ashburn, Christopher (Linda) Ashburn and Holly (Damian) Lukasik; step father of Craig (Debra) Sinclair, Corey (Laura) Sinclair and Cheryl (Christopher) McBride; cherished grandfather of 13 grandchildren; fond brother in law and uncle of many. Preceded in death by his father; Kenneth G. Ashburn and his brother; K. Gail Ashburn, Jr. Gary was an entrepreneur, golf enthusiast, master bridge player and avid sports fan. Above all, he was a faithful Christian who was passionate about his family and his country. Visitation will be on Thursday, December 15th, 2011 from 3:00PM until 9:00PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. The funeral service will be officiated by The Reverend Scott Christenson at Prince of Peace Lutheran Church, 1190 N. Hicks Road in Palatine on Friday, December 16, 2011 with visitation beginning at 10:00AM followed by the funeral at 11:00AM. Gary was a sweet man who will be missed by all who knew him.
