Visitation for Shirley A. Grabowski, 75, of Ingleside, formerly of Chicago and the surrounding area, will be held at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich, Friday, May 8, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 6:00 p.m. The Interment will be held on Monday, at 11:00 am. at Fairview Memorial Park Cemetery, 900 N. Wolf Road, Northlake, Illinois.
Shirley was born on January 31, 1951, in Oak Park, Illinois. She passed May 5, 2026, in Libertyville, Illinois.
Shirley is the loving mother of Scot (Melissa) Grabowski and loving grandmother of Calen Robert and Paxon Scot; dear daughter of the late Arthur and Lois (nee Strom) Dickens; fond sister of Art (Terri) Dickens, Keith Dickens, Linda (nee Dickens) Morse (Ken), Steve (Betty) Dickens; loving Aunt to Kristina Dickens (Christopher), Brian (Kristen) Dickens, Jaclyn (Erik) Martinez, Paul Peterson, Branden (Kaylin) Dickens, Sarah Dickens, Catherine and Rachel Dickens. Great Aunt to Brianna and Devin Dickens, and Emily and Grace Martinez.
Shirley grew up in Chicago with her four fabulous siblings and an amazing extended family. She loved her family more than anything; only coming in second was her love for the Chicago Cubs. Shirley spent all available time traveling to her grandchildren’s football and baseball games, being their greatest cheerleader, and participating in any family event that would arise. Shirley will be greatly missed by all, especially the officials at all sporting events.
