Kaylyn E. Dunne

Visitation for Kaylyn E. Dunne (nee Scollard), 76, of Palatine since 1973, will be held Saturday, May 16, 2026, from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 a.m. at St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, 1201 E. Anderson Drive, Palatine, IL, 60074. The Interment will be held in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.

Kaylyn was born May 7, 1949, in Chicago, and passed away unexpectedly, May 6, 2026, in Arlington Heights.

Kaylyn was the beloved wife of Deacon Thomas R. Dunne; loving mother of Colleen (Jim) Paddock, Kathleen (Ken) Hedrick, and Tommy (Kerry) Dunne; adoring grandmother of Tyler and Joey Paddock, Sean and Danny Hedrick, and Tommy, Aidan and Kayleigh Dunne; dear daughter of the late Patrick and Kathleen (nee Cooney) Scollard; fond sister of Pat (late Gloria) Scollard, and Betty (the late Joe) Polli, aunt of nieces and nephews; survived by many friends and her yorkie, Maggie.

Kaylyn’s life was filled with family and friends. She loved having her family around and celebrated each and every occasion and holiday to its fullest. It was her life’s mission to knit or crochet a blanket, afghan, prayer shawl, mittens, scarves, or hats for every member of her family and all her friends. She thoroughly enjoyed each stitch she made.
