Esther was born to Hungarian immigrants on October 24, 1920 in Vestaburg, PA to the late Martin and Esther (Lewis) Szabo and passed away on October 2, 2011 at her home..

Esther loved her family and friends and she took pride in her family and enjoyed being surrounded by those who loved her.  Esther was an excellent cook and seamstress.  She loved to bake, especially Hungarian pastries.  She also enjoyed sharing her pastries with her neighbors and friends.  In her younger years, she would can seasonal vegetables and fruits for the family and prepare her own preserves and jellies.  Her sewing and needlework abilities were outstanding.  She has created memorable items for family and friends to enjoy.  Esther endured many tough situations in her life, but through her faith and strong will she was able to come through them stronger and more determined for a better life.  Esther’s faith was strong and she read the bible every morning.  Esther was an asset to any church she belonged to.  She was a member of Christ Memorial Presbyterian Church of Royal Oak, MI and Bethany Presbyterian of Glendale, AZ.  She was currently a special friend of Living Christ Lutheran Church of Arlington Heights, IL.  Special thanks to Pastor Paul Klopke for all he has done
