Zena Olson

A Celebration of Life for Zena Olson, 92, of Palatine, will be held on Tuesday, August 10, 2021 from 9:00 am until 11:00 am at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. The Funeral Service will follow at 12:00 pm at First United Methodist Church of Palatine 123 N. Plum Grove Road, Palatine. The Interment will be held at Windridge Memorial Park, 7014 S. Rawson Bridge Rd. Cary, IL.

Zena was born on March 19, 1929 to Philip and Fannie Mikitoff in Melrose Park, IL. A longtime Palatine resident, Zena was a member of the First United Methodist Church, P.E.O., Red Cardinals and Questers.

Zena is survived by her loving husband Glenn of 72 years and children Lucinda Syoen (Alex), Steven Olson (Marlene), James Olson (Marge Thiel) and Barbara Olson (Bruce Longhenry); Grandchildren Jessica (Josh), Kate, Travis, Erin, and Lucas (Valerie). Great grandchildren Anya, Elijah, Charlee, Landon, Zena, Blaize and Maddox.

Zena was never happier than when she was cooking and celebrating together with her family and friends. Her life was devoted to family and friends. She lived her life with kindness and utmost grace.

In lieu of flowers, donations, in Zena’s memory, to the First United Methodist Church, Palatine IL or JourneyCare, Barrington IL would be greatly appreciated by her family.
