Wilda was born June 21, 1945, in Shawnee, Oklahoma to Sibyl Laverne (nee Bradley) and Louis Angeles Elliott.  Wilda Lynette, or Lynn as many knew her, grew up in Shawnee Oklahoma during her formative years and Oklahoma City during her high school years.  Lynn passed away peacefully in her sleep with her daughters by her side on Friday, June 17, 2022.

Lynn attended Horace Mann Elementary school in Shawnee, Oklahoma and attended Harding Junior High and Harding High School in Oklahoma City, class of 1963. Lynn attended the University of Oklahoma, class of 1968.  Lynn graduated with a Bachelor of Arts and Sciences in Vocational Home Economics.

Lynn’s first marriage was to Charles Ray Howell Jr. of Norman, OK in 1967.

Lynn met Robert Jeffrey Haider in 1970 through her mother.  Sibyl and Bob worked together at KNOR radio station in Norman.  Bob and Lynn married in Norman, OK on February 25, 1971.  In 1972, Lynn and Bob would welcome their first daughter Bonnie Leigh into this world. In 1973, Lynn and Bob moved to Illinois, mainly living in Schaumburg and Roselle, IL. In 1981, Lynn and Bob would welcome their second daughter, Anne Marie.

Lynn taught Home Economics at Kerr Junior High in Del City, OK.  Once moving to Illinois, Lynn taught at a few different schools until she finally landed in the school district she had hoped to work for, Schaumburg School District 54.  It was here in this district that Lynn would teach 7th and 8th grade Home Economics in the early 1990s, as well as 2000-2005 at Mead Junior High and Frost Junior High.  Lynn also taught every subject to 6th graders from 1993-2000 at Nerge Elementary.  Lynn spent over 10 years teaching in this district, touched many lives, and loved teaching to all her students.  Lynn retired from teaching in 2005 and in 2006 moved to Harvard, IL to get back to her country roots.

Lynn was lead majorette at Harding High School; played the timpani drum in the Harding High School Marching Band; an Alpha Phi at the University of Oklahoma pledge class 1963 initiated in March 1964, Norman chapter; became a member of Alpha Phi Alumnae in Oklahoma in 1968; and a member of the Chicago North West Suburban Alpha Phi Alumnae chapter in Illinois upon moving to Illinois in 1973. Lynn earned her master’s degree in Special Education from Northern Illinois University in 1989.

Lynn was an avid genealogist, knitter, and quilter. Lynn made numerous quilts, knitted numerous items, and travel the United States searching for ancestors. Lynn managed to trace her family’s roots back generations thus forming many new relationships with family all over the country. Lynn loved to travel, she and Anne traveled all the way to Europe for a month-long excursion in 1998. Lynn had two beautiful grandchildren whom she cherished the most in her life.  Aaron Jeffrey Hill born in 1999 and Kendra Ann Hill in 2002.  Lynn would travel many times to spend time with her grandchildren who lived out of state.

Lynn is survived by daughters Bonnie Leigh (nee Haider) Hill and fiancé Mike Page of McHenry, IL; daughter Anne Marie Haider and boyfriend Kelly Ireland of Norman, OK; ex-husband Robert Jeffrey Haider and Mary Ellen Conway of Glenview, IL; grandson Aaron Jeffrey Hill of Queen Creek, AZ; granddaughter Kendra Ann Hill and Sebastian Sierra of North Barrington, IL; Cousin Charles Michael Titsworth wife Donna of Davidsonville, MD; cousin Patricia Lee (nee Titsworth) and Bill Morgan of Norfolk, VA; cousin Robert Glenn Titsworth wife Teri and children Alicia, Kyle, and Jessica; cousin Michael Matthew Titsworth and little Mikey of Davidsonville, MD; brother Dwayne Elliott and Wanda of Moore, OK; nephew Brandon Elliott wife Ashley and daughter Emma of Aydelotte, OK; niece Andrea Elliott of Shawnee, OK; sister in law Marita Gray and Larry of Shawnee, OK; and many other relatives and friends.

Lynn is preceded in death by her mother Sibyl Laverne (nee Bradley) and father Louis Angeles Elliott; Grandma May (nee Willey) and Grandpa Roy Layton Bradley; Great Grandma Mary Stella (nee Kingston) and Great Grandpa Richard Osmond Willey; Aunt Wilda May (nee Bradley) and Uncle Wilbur Wiggs Titsworth; brother Royce Dean Elliott, second mom Helen (nee Kottke) Elliott; sisters Vesta Kay and Shirly Ann; nephew Landon Elliott; and Cousin Jennifer Leigh Titsworth.
