Visitation will be held for Thomas Joseph “Tom” Osterman, 92, of Kildeer, Illinois, formerly of Cincinnati, Ohio, on July 10, 2025, from 10:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM, at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 33 S. Buesching Rd., Lake Zurich, Illinois. The Interment will be private.

Tom passed away peacefully on June 30, 2025, surrounded by his loving family.

Tom was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and friend. He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years, Mary Jo; his children, Beth (Jim) Kimberly and Michael (Charlotte) Osterman; and his grandchildren, Nicholas Kimberly and his fiancée, Ruth Roudiez, Caroline Talley (Matthew), and Oliver Osterman. He is also fondly remembered by his many nieces and nephews. Tom was preceded in death by his loving daughter, Susan.

Tom's warmth, kindness, and natural ability to connect with others made him a cherished presence in the lives of many. Whether with family, friends, or even strangers, he had a gift for conversation and was always ready with a smile or a bit of advice. He was a loyal friend to many and a mentor to the young, always generous with his wisdom and encouragement.

Tom proudly served his country as a Second Lieutenant in the U.S. Army, stationed in Germany. He carried the values of discipline, service, and leadership with him throughout his life.

After his military service, Tom enjoyed a long and successful career in the fine printing paper business, where his personable nature and integrity earned him great respect.

A passionate tennis player, Tom especially enjoyed playing singles well into his 80s. He was also an avid traveler who delighted in exploring new places and cultures. He took great pride in his yard, creating and maintaining a beautiful, welcoming space. Tom was an avid reader with a lifelong curiosity and love of learning.

His Catholic faith was central to his life and a constant source of strength and guidance. He was a man who lived with purpose, humor, and heart.

The family would like to extend their heartfelt thanks to the staff at Avantara, Lake Zurich, for their compassionate care and support.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church in Lake Zurich or to Bellarmine Jesuit Retreat House in Barrington, Illinois.

Tom will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
