Thomas J. Strasser, Sr.

A Funeral Mass and Christian Burial for Thomas J. Strasser, Sr. will be held in Maryland at a later date.

Thomas died on Thursday, December 2, 2021, in Deer Park, IL, at the age of 96. He was born on September 12, 1925, to Edward S. and Mary M. Strasser in Marion, Ohio and grew up in nearby Upper Sandusky.

Tom served in the Navy during WWII and the Korean War. He received his officer training at Columbia University and studied electrical engineering at Miami University of Ohio and the University of Dayton.

Tom lived most of his adult life in the Washington, DC area, where he worked for Hewlett-Packard. Tom enjoyed time spent with his family and sailing. He sailed throughout the Chesapeake Bay and Long Island Sound. Even in his later years, Tom never lost his love of technological innovation or physical activity.

He was preceded in death by his wife Mary; son Bill (Anne); parents Edward and Mary and his brothers, Ed (Marie) and Jack (Dottie). He is survived by his remaining children; Jeanne (Steve) Geusz, Tom (Charlotte) Strasser, Jr. and Bob Strasser and his grandchildren, Katie, Molly, Ryan, Robin and Madeline.
