Sandra M. Gumm

A Visitation for Sandra M. Gumm, 77, of Arlington Heights, will be held from 4:00 PM until 8:00 PM, Thursday, December 2, 2021 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.  The Visitation will continue at the funeral home on Friday, December 3, 2021, from 10:00 AM until the time of the Memorial Service at 11:00 AM.  Live streaming of the Memorial Service may be found by following the link https://webcast.funeralvue.com/events/viewer/64457.  The Interment will be held privately at Randhill Park Cemetery, Arlington Heights.

Sandra was born on June 13, 1944 to the late Carl and Lila Nichols.  She passed away at home on Saturday, November 27, 2021.

Sandy as she was known to her family and friends enjoyed many crafty endeavors including sewing clothes for her children when they were young, quilting and basket weaving.  She made time to be involved volunteering at her church over the years with various committees and groups.  In retirement she came to find great enjoyment in working with the ladies at Partners for Our Communities in Palatine on their many sewing projects.

Sandra was the beloved wife of David G. Gumm of 52 years.  She was the loving mother of: Melissa J. Gumm and Julie Cheatwood; dear grandmother of: Aaron and Aiden Cheatwood; and dear sister of: Carl Nichols, Edward (June) Nichols, and Richard Nichols.
