Roy E. Rood

The Graveside Committal Services and Interment for Roy Edwin Rood of Elmhurst, will be held with Air Force Military Honors on Tuesday, February 24, 2015 at 1:00PM at the Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Elwood, IL.

Born on April 8, 1933 in Elmhurst, IL the son of the late Victor H. and Mary “May” K. (nee Hottinger ) Rood and passed away on Sunday, February 15, 2015.

Roy was a U.S. Air Force Veteran.  He was the owner of American Painting and Decorating in the Northwest Suburbs and was also a real estate agent.

Roy was the longtime companion of the late Lorraine “Elizabeth”; loving father of Lori Deguardi; dear grandfather of Jake Forney; beloved brother of Vinson (Alyce Pruyn) Rood, Helen Rood, Theodore (Sandy) Rood, Shirley (Edwin) Brztowski, Douglas (Mai) Rood and Darlene Rood.  He was preceded in death by Katherine Rood, Harold Rood, Victor Rood, Sr., Frank Rood, Lou (late Chester) Bucknell, and Josephine (late Frank) Jacobs and a late nephew Victor Rood, Jr.  Roy is also survived by many nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews, great great nieces, great great nephews, cousins and other loving family and friends.
