It is with deepest sadness that we announce the passing of Rosalynn Ruth West (Brown). Rose was 87 years young, passed at Lake Barrington Woods Senior Living in Lake Barrington, Illinois on Sunday July 5, 2026, from CHF. Rosalynn was born in Chicago, IL on Sept. 12, 1938, to Russell G Brown & Violet Drake’Brown. Rose lived in Northbrook, IL, Hawthorn Woods, IL, Wauconda, IL and Island Lake, IL.

Rose was always kind, caring and adventurous in her years of life. She was a snow skier, a pedal biker, hiker, camping and traveled to all 50 states and 25 countries. She volunteered extensively including scouts, hospice care and at St. Peter church in many ways including sending birthday cards to the congregation for years. Rose career was a bookkeeper and started with Cooksy Oil, Palwaukee Airport and lastly Armstrong Medical Supplies. Rose was an avid reader and wrote many stories and 2 books.

Rose was married to A. James West (deceased) for 37 years. Rose remarried Frank Hauser for 9 years. (deceased) Rose is survived by her 4 children, 9 Grandchildren and 11 Great Grandchildren. 1st Son: Steven James West, wife Tracy Allen’West (Deceased) & Grandchildren: Jennifer Maman, Kfir Maman (in law), Great Grandson Jacob & Grandaughter Sara West 2nd Daughter: Patricia Lynn Bojan, husband: Thomas Bojan (in law) & Grandchildren Jonathan Bojan, Jeanette Alianello’Bojan (in law), Great Grandchildren: Xander, Gavin, Lucia, Leonora & Giuliana and Grandchildren Gregory Bojan, Kelli Arnold’Bojan (in law) Great Grandchildren Seth & Sophie, and Grandchildren Douglas Bojan & Jay Kronberger (significant). 3rd Daughter: Debra Jeanne Garbutt & husband Brian Garbutt (in law) and Grandchildren: Wesley Garbutt, Rachel Boyce’Garbutt (in Law) Great Grandchildren Parker & Bailey & Grandchildren Karalynn Moll, Chase Moll (in law) and Great Grandchild: Cody and 4th child Brian Russel West & Victoria Adams (significant) & Grandchildren: George West, Claire Kenny’West (In law), Laura Rose & T.J. Draper (significant).

Rose was the matriarch of her family of 7 siblings. She has 2 surviving sisters: Joyalynn Brown’Poling, Don Poling (in law) & Evelynn Brown’Minnitte and surviving West In-law’s Don, Loretta & Claudette.

There will be a celebration of life from 1-5 on Saturday, Aug. 22, 2026, at the Island Lake Farm. Please contact family for details.
