Ronald R. Gruen

Visitation for Ronald R. Gruen, 83, of Palatine, will be from 3:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m., on Friday, February 23, 2024, at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy, Palatine.  Prayers will be held at 9:30 a.m. on Saturday, February 24, 2024, at the funeral home. A Funeral Mass will be said at 10:00 a.m. at St. Theresa Catholic Church, 455 N. Benton St, Palatine. The Interment will be private at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.  

Ron was born on March 15, 1940, to Robert and Clara Gruen, he passed away at home on Saturday, February 17, 2024.

Ron, a devoted grandfather and great-grandfather was very proud of them all. He joyfully attended most games and events. He also enjoyed woodworking and making lamps, tables, and benches for his family.   

Ron was the beloved husband of Dolores Gruen for 61 years, loving father of Sheryl (Myron) Wolf, Julie (Bob) Collins, Gregory (Sandra) Gruen, Karl (Veronica) Gruen, dear grandfather of Jessica (Bob), Ashley (Steve), Meghan (Will), Kaitlyn (Chris), Lauren (Todd), Michael (Chelsea), Cara (Ryan), Erin, Samuel, Bobby (Katie), Jacob , Charlie (Sarah), Rannin, Mackenzie, Kasandra, and  Jeremiah; fond  great-grandfather of Ty, Elsie, Daisy, Haylee, Madelyn, Brynn, Colin, Ryleigh, Leah, John, Sarah, CJ, Connor, Oliva, Cole; brother of Roger (Kathy) Gruen and Wendy Gruen (Paul Turner).
