It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Robert Gene (Bob) Griep, who departed this life on June 22, 2025, at the age of 80. He was born on July 13, 1944, in Waukesha, WI, to the loving parents Alvin and Bernice Griep. Visitation will be held on Tuesday, July 1, 2025. from 10:00a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11:00a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church 33 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. The Interment will be in St. Mary's Catholic Cemetery in Buffalo Grove. Friends and family are invited to join in celebrating the incredible life of Robert Griep, a man who loved deeply, served faithfully, and whose legacy will live on in the hearts of many.

Robert lived a life filled with love, dedication, and service, and he will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Bob graduated from Libertyville High School and proudly served in the United States Army, demonstrating the courage and dedication that would define much of his life. After returning from military service, Robert embarked on a successful career with United Airlines, where he dedicated 32 years of his life before retiring. His colleagues remember him not only for his work ethic but also for his kindness and willingness to help others.

In April of 1982, Bob married Lucille. Their bond, which lasted for an incredible 43 years, was a beautiful testament to their love and commitment to one another. Together, they raised a wonderful family, and Robert took immense pride in being a husband, father, and grandfather. He is survived by his devoted wife, Lucille, his beloved children: Paul, Tommy, Cindy, Michelle, and Kim, as well as his cherished grandchildren: Matt, Lauryn, Rob, Scott, Adam, Taylor, Linsey, Kaitlyn, Kanesha, Aaron, Luke, Ashley, and Austin. He also leaves behind a legacy of 11 great-grandchildren, who were a source of endless joy for him.

Bob was preceded in death by his parents, sisters Annette and Judy, brothers Joe and Jerry, and daughter, Theresa. The loss of these family members weighed heavily on his heart, but his love for his surviving family remained a guiding light throughout his life.

In addition to his family, Bob was actively involved in his community and church. His unwavering faith and genuine desire to help others were defining characteristics of his life. He took pride in being a pillar of support to those in need and leaves behind a community that will forever be grateful for his contributions.

As we say goodbye to Robert, we remember a man who embodied love, generosity, and strength. His spirit will continue to shine brightly in the lives of those he touched, and he will be forever missed but never forgotten.
