Richard S. Pabisiak

An honorary Military Salute and Graveside Service for Richard S. Pabisiak, 73, of Palatine, IL will take place Friday March 13th at 12pm sharp at Abraham Lincoln National Cemetery in Ellwood, IL.

Richard was born April 25, 1946 in Aschaffenburg, Germany and immigrated to America in 1949. He made Chicagoland his home. He passed away peacefully on March 8, 2020 in Palatine, IL. surrounded by his family.

Loving father of Ryan S. Pabisiak; devoted Dzia Dzia (grandfather) of Nathan, Jacob, Mia, and Ashley Pabisiak. Brother to Helen Wolinski, Frieda Holowicki, and Marie Vazquez. Uncle to many amazing nieces and nephews. He was also a fun loving friend to so many.

Richard was preceded in death by his parents Jan and Jozefa Pabisiak; his brother James Pabisiak; and his grandson Dylon Pabisiak.

Richard was a decorated Vietnam Veteran and purple- heart recipient. He was a retired engineer and his love for golf, bowling, and all sports was endless. Back in the day Rich could swing a bat and play one heck of a softball game. He played on a league for years. Rich bowled a perfect game and every Friday night you could find Rich at the bowling alley. He loved his White Sox and enjoyed baseball and football, especially watching the games and talking about every play with Ryan. Rich’s true passion and devotion came with being a dad to Ryan and Dzia Dzia to Nathan, Jacob, Mia, and Ashley. Amusement parks, water parks, games, sporting events, you name it. Rich enjoyed and took part in all the experiences with his grandchildren. He truly was an unbelievable, involved, and fantastic Dzai Dzai.

We all knew behind Rich’s tough Marine exterior was a warm, loving, and generous soul. Rich was a giver and gave a lot to everyone he encountered. Rich was the definition of uniqueness. Everyone who knew Rich will always remember him.

May our Dzia Dzia rest in peace. You are now the Sunlight of the Spirit.
