Ralph B. Szontagh

A Memorial Service for Ralph B. Szontagh, 89, of Port Washington, WI, will be held on August 21, 2021 at 3:00 pm, at First Congregational Church of Crystal Lake, 461 Pearson St, Crystal Lake, Illinois.

Ralph passed away on August 5, 2021. He was born in Chicago on December 9, 1931.

His memory will be carried on by his sons Robert (Paula) Szontagh, Rick (Tammy) Szontagh and Tom (Lorraine) Szontagh and his loving stepdaughters Lisa (Russell) Siebold, Julie (Thomas) Zehner, Beth (Edward) Christianson. Ralph cherished his grandchildren Christina, Matthew, Daniel, Lauren, Carolyn, Cindy, Katie, Emily, Sandra, Tyler, Carlie, Nicole, Sarah, Emily, Cameron, Jack, Mackenzie, Ryan, Steven, Victoria, Margaret, Patrick, and many great-grandchildren. He was the beloved brother to Gerry (Gail) Szontagh, and brother-in-law, dear uncle, cousin, and treasured friend to many.

He was preceded in death by his wife Carol Szontagh, of 32 years, his parents Elmer and Dorothy Szontagh, his first wife Josephine Szontagh of 31 years, and his son David Szontagh and sister Jolan Jensen.

Ralph was a salesman by nature. He had a passion for fishing and would be the first to do for others. Always showing interest in his grandchildren’s hobbies and kept everyone laughing with his sense humor. He was a beloved Santa by many and lived with pride and joy every day.
