Pola J Piotrowski M.D.

Pola J. Piotrowski, M.D. age 96, of North Barrington, went to be with her loving Lord on 11-19-2023. She is preceded in death by her parents Andrew and Julie Piotrowski and brothers Lincoln A. (Mary), John (Phyllis) Peters, and sister Henrietta (Harry) Swietlik. She is survived by niece Anne (Dan) Beverley and nephew Michael (Elizabeth) Peters and numerous great nieces and nephews, also cousins Janet Rhein, PA James (Jimmy) Annes, WI, Carol Kuryla, IL and Laverne Schaeffer of Chicago. She is a dear friend of Joan and Dr. Ricardo Cruz, Dr. Thomas Cozzi and Dr. Usha Murarka.

Pola graduated from Loyola Chicago Pre-Med in 1950 and from UIC Chicago in 1955.  She did her pediatric residency at Chicago Children’s Memorial (Lurie) and opened her practice in Palatine, later moving to Arlington Heights, IL. She served as one of the first female Pediatricians on staff with Northwest Community Hospital (NCH) from their inception.  Pola volunteered her skills with the Claretians via multiple trips to Guatemala. She had a deep faith in the Catholic religion serving as a Eucharistic minister.

Funeral Mass will be held at Transfiguration Parish, 316 W Mill St., Wauconda, IL at 10am Saturday, November 25 th , 2023. Interment will be held at All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines, IL, at a later date. In lieu of flowers memorials will be appreciated for Doctors Without Borders.
