Patricia passed away peacefully at St. Joseph Home for the Elderly on May 4, 2025. Born on December 19, 1938, to the late Estelle and John Clifford, in Chicago, Illinois, Patricia lived a life defined by love, warmth, and devotion to her family.

She was married to the love of her life, Sam Pistone, from 1957 until his passing in 2009. Together, they built a close-knit and loving family, raising five children: Pete (Michele), Terri (Gary), Rose (Jim), Gina (Matt), and Angela (Dave). Patricia was the proud and devoted grandmother of Natalie (Seth) Long, Sam, Andrew, Mia, Rachel, and Kate, and a loving sister-in-law, aunt and godmother.

Throughout her life, Patricia was known for her caring heart and generous spirit. She managed the iconic Kroch’s and Brentano’s bookstore and spent 23 dedicated years working for Dr. Greenwald and Womancare, where she made lasting impacts through her compassion and attention to others.

In her earlier years, she volunteered at her children’s schools, always offering her time and energy to support others. Affectionately known as “the mom of the neighborhood,” she offered kindness, support, and a warm welcome to everyone around her.

Patricia had a passion for music, gardening, and reading, and found great joy in creating a home full of beauty, comfort, and love. She was an extraordinary hostess, especially during the holidays, when she brought her large family together for joyful, laughter-filled gatherings.

In her final years, Patricia lived at St. Joseph’s Home for the Elderly, a place she lovingly referred to as “the best place on Earth.” Her family is forever grateful to the entire staff for the loving, compassionate care they provided.

Patricia’s life was a testament to love, family, and community. She will be deeply missed and lovingly remembered by all who had the honor of knowing her.
