Palatine

A Celebration of Life for Pamela Ann Rech, 76, of Palatine, will take place on June 29th 2026, at The Chapel, 431 N. Quentin Road, Palatine, with visitation from 11:30 a.m. until the time of the Service at 12:00 p.m.; and luncheon to follow where family and friends will gather to honor and remember a woman who meant so much to so many.

She was a devoted mother, a loving wife, a loyal friend, and affectionately known as the QUEEN of the family. Known for her sharp wit, unwavering loyalty, and feisty spirit, she left an impression on everyone who had the privilege of knowing her.

Throughout her life, she battled many medical challenges, facing each one with grit, courage, and remarkable strength. Through every trial, her faith never wavered. Psalm 91 was her favorite Bible passage—a source of comfort and protection that reflected the deep trust she placed in God. It is promise of refuge and steadfast love that carried her through life’s hardest moments and defined the strength of her spirit.

For several years, she worked as a research paralegal in Chicago, where her intelligence, diligence, and dedication earned the respect of colleagues and clients alike. She approached her work with integrity and determination, qualities that extended into every part of her life.

She was affectionately known as “Coo Coo” to her grandchildren, a proud grandmother of 7; whose sass was legendary and whose love was unconditional; always a safe and soft spot to land. She was adored by her family, not despite her sassiness, but because of it. Her quick wit, honest opinions, and spirited personality brought laughter, warmth, and life into every conversation.

After the passing of her beloved husband Bill in August of 2024, her heart was profoundly changed. Losing her lifelong partner and best friend deeply affected her, and with his absence Mom declined significantly. Even so, her love for her family and her faith remained evident to the very end.

She will be remembered for her strength, her humor, her unconditional love, and her unshakable faith. Though she is no longer with us, her legacy lives on in the stories shared, the laughter remembered, and the love she gave so freely. She will be deeply missed and forever cherished.

She is survived by her children, Meg Flowers, Amy Helms, and Billy Rech; her children-in-law, Stephen Flowers, Lindsey Rech and Chad Helms; and her beloved grandchildren, Emma Flowers, Noelle Flowers, Noah Helms, Ruth Helms, Luke Rech, Leyli Rech, and Lily Rech. She is also survived by her sister, Susan Deal Weidner of Athens, Wisconsin. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jeanne and Buzz Deal, and her sister, Mary Pat Deal Shafer.

In lieu of flowers please consider donating to any of these charities: American Heart Association, Wounded Warrior Foundation, Alzheimer's Foundation, Gift of Hope, The Chapel Palatine, or the Tyndale Foundation.
