Norman J. Kwilas

Visitation for Norman J. Kwilas will be held from 5:00p.m. to 8:00p.m. Monday, February 25, 2019 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine. He will be laid to rest in All Saints Cemetery, Des Plaines.

Norman was born in Chicago on March 18, 1942 and passed away, peacefully, on February 21, 2019.

He is the son of the late Edward and the late Catherine Kwilas, brother of Alexandra L. Kwilas, father of Lisa R. (Dennis Hirschauer), Mark N. and Paul N. Kwilas, former husband of Marianne J. Kwilas, and adopter of Matrix “The Mouser” cat.

The compassionate staff and the volunteers of Journey Care made his and his family’s tough battle comfortable and dignified. A dedicated staff kept Norman and family completely informed during each difficult step and installed a true sense of peace during his passing, and after, for family members.

He was a caring independent, ever patient man and was most often willing to help others before himself. Norman’s admiration for outdoor and indoor gardening sparked much interest from many that knew and met him. New stories about his steadfast ways of fixing things will be missed. Norman will be missed, but we will always have our memories.
