The Memorial Visitation for Maryon G. Bensen (nee Purves), 94 of Hawthorn Woods, will be held Saturday, February 4, 2023, from 11:00 am until the time of the Memorial Service at 1:30 pm at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Rd. Lake Zurich. The Internment will be private.

Maryon was born on July 26, 1928 in Chicago Il, the daughter of the late Edmund Purves and Molly Kwasinski. She went home to be with her Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, on Thursday, December 15, 2022.

Maryon was primarily a homemaker, staying home to raise her four children, but also held various part time jobs as well as volunteering for children’s ministries and babysitting. She made friends easily and was an inspiration and blessing to many people over the years.

She is preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Victor L. Bensen, as well as her dear sister, Shirley Biegalski; loving mother of Jay (Carol) Bensen, Gayle (Pastor Jack) Jenkins, Lynn (Richard) Greene and Glenn (Janice) Bensen; cherished grandmother of Nicholas (Jessica) Bensen and Tiffany Bensen, Dan (Hannah) Jenkins, Amy (Matt) Palmer, David (Jayme) Jenkins, Ben Harms, Bethany Harms (fiancé, Dakota Perry), Brooke (Coleman) Ott, Abby Bensen (fiancé, Josh Ficarra) and Eric Bensen; great grandmother of 13, dear sister-in- law, Marbeth Lange; loving aunt to 5 nieces, 2 nephews, also surviving are many great -nieces, nephews, cousins and other dear friends.

 In lieu of flowers, a memorial in memory of Maryon would be appreciated for St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 4619 N. Ravenswood, Chicago, Il. 60640.
