Mary K. Farris

Memorial Services for Mary K. Farris (née Ksander), 68, of Palatine, will be held at a later date.

Mary was the cherished mother of Joseph Farris and Elizabeth (Tim Meyers) Farris; grandmother of Madeline Rose and Arne George; sister of George (Molly), Sally (Roger) Forte, William (Kathryn “Cossy”), and Margaret (Richard Ellison); and aunt and great aunt to many nieces and nephews.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Robert; parents, George and Katherine Ksander; and brother, Anthony.

Mary was a skilled nurse, an avid gardener and crafter, and a dedicated lover of nature and animals. She was renowned for her particular love for polar bears. She was fiercely protective and served as a mom to anybody who needed one.

In lieu of flowers, consider a donation to the Brookfield Zoo or the Morton Arboretum, where Mary spent many happy hours among the animals and trees.
