With heavy hearts, we announce the passing of Mary Alice Hogan, 71, of Palatine, our beloved mother, grandmother, and friend, whose love, strength, and unwavering devotion to her family will be remembered always.
Visitation for Mary will be held Saturday, July 11, 2026, from 11:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:30 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. The Interment will be private.
Mary was born and raised in Owen, Wisconsin. She was the cherished daughter of Edward and Irene Lehnen and one of four daughters. She shared a lifelong bond with her sisters, Barbara Isaac, Donna Petz, and Andrea Maxwell, whose love and memories remained an important part of her life.
Mary was the devoted widow of her beloved husband, Patrick Hogan, married 41 years, and found her greatest joy in being a mother to Sean Hogan (Kaylin Hogan), Thomas Hogan (Celina Hogan), and Molly (Hogan) Odle (Bryan Odle). Her family was the center of her world, and nothing brought her more happiness than watching it grow. She was a proud and loving grandmother to Owen Odle, Jacob Hogan, Finnegan Odle, Hennelly Hogan, Amia Hogan, and Isabella Hogan. Each grandchild held a special place in her heart and was blessed by her unconditional love, encouragement, and quiet wisdom.
She also shared a special bond with her faithful dog, Mutzie, whose companionship brought her comfort and happiness.
Mary will be remembered for her fierce independence, stubbornness that never wavered, and determination to do things her own way. Those qualities, combined with her generosity and love, made her unforgettable to everyone who knew her. She found joy in life’s simple pleasures, especially getting lost in a good book, gathering around the table for games, and spending treasured time with family and friends. Whether sharing stories, laughter, or friendly competition, she created memories that will live on in the hearts of those she loved.
Though her absence leaves an immeasurable void, her legacy lives on through her children, grandchildren, sisters, extended family, and countless friends whose lives she touched with her love, resilience, and spirit.
Mary will be deeply missed, forever loved, and never forgotten.
