Martha M. Haedike

Services and Interment for Martha “Mott” Haedike will be private.

She is the daughter of David and Lelia Qualls and passed away peacefully at her home at the age of 91 on Saturday, September 5, 2015.

She was preceded in death by her loving husband Edward; sisters Millie, Kit, Hazel, Bea, Margaret; and brother Clay.  Mott was the beloved mother of Bill (Kelly) Haedike, Kay (John) Flynn and Susan (John) Romano; proud grandmother of Molly and Alex Romano; great grandmother of Allison and Adalina; loving sister of Dorothy Hodges, David Qualls and Virginia Bullock.

Mott was a kind and generous woman from a large southern family.  She was happiest when surrounded by family and friends, and her door was always open to all.  Mott loved nature and taught her children to stop and smell the roses and listen to the birds.

The family requests donations be made to the Chicago Botanic Gardens, 1000 Lake Cook Road, Glencoe, IL 60022, one of her favorite places.
