Maria Thoma

Visitation for Maria Thoma, age 86, of Hawthorn Woods, will be held on Sunday, January 5, 2020 from 3:00 pm until 8:00 pm at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. Funeral Services will be held on Monday, January 6, 2020 at 10:00 am also at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home. An Interment will follow at Maryhill Catholic Cemetery, Niles.

Maria passed away peacefully on Wednesday, January 1st 2020 in her home.

She was the wife of the late Ludwig Thoma. She was the youngest of four siblings and immigrated to the United States with her family in her early 20’s. She was loved by her family and friends. She enjoyed traveling to destinations such as Asia and Europe. She enjoyed spending her time knitting and sewing. She will be remembered fondly for her love of life, amazing sense of humor, and never-ending sweet tooth.

Maria is survived by her daughter Mary (Dean Cesario) Miele; Grandchildren Hayley and Nicole Johnson and Nikoli Mechetner; Step-Grandchildren Dean Jr., Brittany, and Brooke Cesario; Step-Great Grandchildren Shelby, Bradley, Bella, Nova, Noah, and Brianna.
