Lynn Anne Granzin

December 4, 1953 — March 23, 2024

Hoffman Estates

On Saturday, March 23, 2024, Lynn Anne Granzin (Andersen), of Hoffman Estates, loving wife, mother and grandmother, passed away suddenly at the age of 70, surrounded by her immediate family.

Lynn was born on December 4, 1953, in Chicago, Illinois to Andrew Andersen Sr. and Eleanor (nee Schuette) Andersen. Lynn moved to Palatine in 1956, spending her childhood in various grade schools, graduating from William Fremd High School in 1972.

Lynn married Gary Granzin on October 12, 1974, in Mt. Prospect. She lived in Hoffman Estates until 1976, followed by a move to Arlington Heights. Lynn and Gary went on to have 2 children, Marissa and Jeffrey. In 1986, she moved to Hoffman Estates, where she lived until her passing.

Lynn worked at Weber-Stephen Products Company for over 47 years, starting in 1972. She worked in various roles throughout the years, ultimately working as a Logistics Coordinator until her retirement in 2019. Even after her retirement, she would enjoy time with past coworkers over drinks and stories.

Lynn’s love and generosity transformed the lives of everyone she encountered. She had a song for everything, loved spending time with her family and friends, and traveling to Vegas and beach locations. Her three grandsons were the light of her life, spending time hanging out with them whenever she could. She had a remarkable ability to connect with people, share herself and evoke that same spirit of love in each person she knew.

Lynn is the beloved wife of Gary S. Granzin of 49 years; loving mom of Marissa Juracek and her husband Travis, Jeffrey Granzin and his wife Karen; cherished grandmother of Carter Granzin, Collin Juracek and Kameron Juracek; dear sister of Andrew Andersen Jr. (Fran), Barry Andersen, Nancy Noble (Rick); and favorite aunt of numerous nieces and nephews.

Lynn was preceded in death by her father, Andrew Andersen Sr., her mother, Eleanor Andersen-Kersten, and her brother, John Andersen.
