Visitation for Lois M. Karlstedt (nee Stultz), 82, of Palatine, will be held Wednesday, October 14, 2026, from 2:00 p.m. until the time of the Memorial Service at 5:30 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine, IL 60067. Interment will be private.
Lois was born September 12, 1944, in Hammond, Indiana, and passed away October 8, 2026, in Palatine.
Lois will be lovingly remembered by her family and friends as a woman who enjoyed life to the fullest and cherished the people, experiences, and traditions that made life special.
Lois was the beloved daughter of the late Lawrence and Eileen Stultz. She is survived by her siblings, Robert Stultz, James Stultz, and Julie Bonzani (née Stultz).
She is survived by her loving children, Kimberly Gross (née Karlstedt) (Keith) and Kevin Karlstedt (Nicole).
Lois was a proud and loving grandmother to Mandy Pettit (née Gross) (Matt), Jake Gross (Ali), Mia and Wayne Karlstedt. She was also blessed with six beloved great-grandchildren: Layne, Bryce, and Wyatt Pettit; and Bella, Jake Jr., and Reese Gross.
Lois treasured her friendships and the wonderful times she shared with her close circle of friends. She especially enjoyed gathering for games of bridge, Mahjong, and Texas Hold’em, where friendly competition, laughter, and good company created many cherished memories. She also loved traveling with friends, enjoying trips to Galena and Long Grove, Illinois, as well as a memorable trip to Italy.
Lois embraced life and found joy in the seasons and traditions she loved most. Fall was her favorite time of year, with its beautiful colors and crisp air. But Christmas held an especially dear place in her heart. It was, without a doubt, her absolute favorite time of year. She eagerly anticipated the holiday season and all the warmth, excitement, and happiness it brought.
Lois will be deeply missed by her loving family and friends. Her love of life, her cherished friendships, and the many special memories she created will live on in the hearts of all who knew and loved her.
In lieu of flowers, the family invites you to visit an Angel Tree this holiday season and make a donation to a child or family in need, in honor of Lois’s memory and her love of Christmas.
