Leroy "Lee" McBride

Visitation for Leroy “Lee” McBride, 89, of Lake Zurich, will be from 11:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 1:00 PM on Monday, July 28, 2025, at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich. A private Interment will follow at Windridge Memorial Park, Cary.

Lee was born on February 8, 1936, in Chicago, Illinois, he was the beloved son of Patrick and Mildred McBride. He passed away peacefully at home surrounded by his family on Tuesday, July 22, 2025.

Lee was known for his kind heart, strong work ethic and sense of humor. He spent much of his career as a printer and in his retired years a community crossing guard. He enjoyed history and cheering on the Chicago Cubs. Above all he cherished his family. He was a devoted father/grandfather/great-grandfather, always present for birthdays, games, and all of life’s milestones. His stories, wisdom, and steady presence will be deeply missed.

Lee was the beloved husband of 68 years to Marie A. McBride; dear father of Michael McBride (Amber), Dale McBride (Helene), William McBride (Katie), Lori Socki (Dan); cherished grandfather of Kelly Calderon (Christian), Erinn McBride, Mallory McBride (Adam), William McBride Jr., Jennifer Socki (Patrick), Nicholas Socki (Abby), Megan Weatherbie (Ryan), Shannon Weatherbie, Patrick Weatherbie and was preceded in death by his daughter, Diane Weatherbie.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to Advocate Hospice.
