Lavina G. Moranda

Visitation for Lavina G. Moranda, 92, of Palatine for over 60 years, will be on Saturday, July 18, 2026, from 9:00 AM until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 AM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy, Palatine. The Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.

Lee was born on November 18, 1933, to Paul and Bertha Van Antwerp. She passed away at home on Sunday, July 12, 2026.

Lee was a woman of many talents and passions. She was an avid tennis player who found joy on the court and also loved gardening. She was a skilled seamstress and painter. Lee also enjoyed exercising and walking, embracing an active lifestyle that kept her connected to the world around her.

Professionally, she worked for Union Oil in Schaumburg and Palatine Savings and Loan before retiring from Langer Printing in Palatine.

Above all else, Lee cherished her role as a mother and grandmother. Those who had the privilege of knowing her often described her as the best mother and grandmother one could hope for—a testament to the love and care she gave so freely.

Lee was the beloved wife of the late Francis "Frank" S. Moranda; loving mother of Linda (Mark) Wenzel, Cindy (Kurt) Schwiesow, and Bobby (Pamela) Moranda; cherished grandmother of Daniel, Jessica, Jenna, Michael, Michelle, Taylor, Breyson; fond great-grandmother of Jordy, Everly, Monroe, Easton, and Maria; and dear sister-in-law of Ronnie Van Antwerp.lz
