Lauretta M. Parker

Visitation for Lauretta Marguerite Parker, age 92, of Chicago, Illinois, will be held on Saturday, February 14, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 12:00 noon at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. The Interment will be private. The Service will be live-streamed for family members who are unable to attend in person.

Lauretta was born on November 16, 1933, to Edward and Laura Drumm. She passed away on Thursday, January 29, 2026.

Lauretta completed her high school diploma at Holy Name Cathedral H.S. and later attended beauty school, beginning a long career as a hairdresser. She took great pride in her work and enjoyed the personal connections that came with her profession. Throughout her life, she was known for her independence, resilience, and dedication to caring for those around her.

Lauretta was an active member of St. James church in Arlington Heights. She is remembered for personally making homemade blankets for children during this time and was a very good seamstress. She earned a reputation for being generous and social with everyone she met, and she always had a good story to share!

Lauretta was the dear sister of James Nolan Drumm (Rosemary), Michael Paul Drumm (Bonnie), Edward Joseph Drumm, Jr. (Eileen), Diane Therese Caruso (Carl), Marjorie Amy Bowker (Herb), and Lynn Mary Rice (Hal). She was the loving mother of Stephen Parker.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Edward and Laura Drumm, and several siblings.

She is survived by her brother, Michael Paul Drumm; and her son, Stephen William Parker; as well as many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
