Julia A. Keegan

Visitation for Julia A. Keegan, 82, of Palatine since 1973, formerly of Chicago, will be held Tuesday, January 20, 2026, from 3:00 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 7:00 PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine, Illinois, 60067. The Interment will be private.

Julia was born April 6, 1943, in Chicago and passed away January 14, 2026 in Arlington Heights.

Julia was the beloved wife of Donald W. Keegan, loving mother of Jim (Teri) Keegan and Richard (Linda) Keegan; loving grandmother of Amanda Keegan, Kati Keegan, Michael Keegan, and Ellie Keegan; dear daughter of the late Leo and Mary (Nee Harnick) Dankert; fond sister of Joe Dankert, Rich Dankert, Loretta Johnson, and Dolores Ritchey.

Julia will be remembered for her joyful spirit, quick wit, and a sense of humor that brought fun and lightness to everyone around her, along with her deep love for animals, her many dear friends, and her faith. She loved Jesus and worship music, finding comfort and joy in both. Her love for her family was fierce and constant; she especially cherished time spent with her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews, each of whom held a special place in her heart. Always herself and always present for those she loved, she leaves behind a lifetime of memories that will be held close and shared with smiles.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to her favorite charity, Paws of Honor.
