Joy S. Xue

Visitation for Joy S. Xue, 29, will be held on Saturday, January 24, 2026, from 10:30 AM until 11:30 AM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy, Palatine. The Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, with a Service at 12 PM in the cemetery chapel.

Joy was born April 7, 1996, and was taken far too soon on January 18, 2026.

In her short time, she was known for her kind heart, bright spirit, and deep love for those around her. She brought warmth and laughter wherever she went touching many lives through her compassion and generosity.

Born in Beijing, China and grew up in Glen Ellyn, IL she loved acting, writing, arts, and an avid animal lover especially her dog Lexi and cat Mimi.

Joy was intellectually gifted from an early age. She consistently ranked at the top of her class, winning many awards including the national President's Education Awards Program (PEAP), which recognizes graduating students for academic excellence or achievement and the United States Achievement Academies National Mathematics Award and continued her education at Cornell University.

Joy also excelled in sports, winning the IL State swimming championships at the age of thirteen.

Joy was survived and loved dearly by her mother and Father, Wei Song and Yibing Xue; Uncle, Jian Xin; Aunts, Feng Yun and Quing Yun; Grandparents, Jiang Xue and Meilan Qi. They will forever cherish her memory.

A celebration of life will be held on April 7, 2026, with details to come.

Though her life was far too short, Joy’s love and light will remain in the hearts of all who knew her.
