Visitation for Joseph W. Pegoraro, 77, of Arlington Heights since 1982, will be held Thursday, September 3, 2026, from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. with a Masonic Service at 6:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine, IL 60067. The Visitation will continue Friday, September 4, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service at 11:00 a.m. at Faith Lutheran Church, 401 S. Arlington Heights Road, Arlington Heights, 60005. The Interment will follow in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Arlington Heights.
Joseph was born April 3, 1949, in Evanston, and he passed away August 30, 2026, in Arlington Heights. He joined the U.S. Navy out of high school during the Vietnam War. After he served in the Navy, he worked for his dad at Palatine Paint and Glass. He then joined Siemens as an X-ray technician for 16 years. After he worked for Siemens, he decided to go into business for himself until he retired in 2009.
He was treasurer of Faith Luteran Church in Arlington Heights. He was a member of the following Masonic lodges, Palatine Lodge #314, in Palatine, Medinah Lodge #1182, Barrington Lodge #522. He was master for the Palatine lodge in 2006. He also belonged to the Scottish Rite, Shriners, High Twelve and Eastern Star. He was the treasurer of the High Twelve and received the MSA and 33rd from the Scottish Rite.
Joseph was the beloved husband of Rosemarie Pegoraro (nee Mueller); loving father of Stephanie Pegoraro; loving grandfather of Stella Pegoraro; dear son of the late Joseph Pegoraro and Marilyn Kaski; fond brother of James (Carol), Carl Johnson (Deanna), Tim Johnson (Janice), Tina Johnson, Cora Kysar, Sue Johnson, John Johnson (Sue), and Morna Hortt (Bud) and many nieces and nephews. He is preceded in death by his brother and sister Jeffrey Pegoraro and Starla Johnson.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations would be appreciated to Shriners Children's Hospital.
