John P. Treanor

Visitation for John P. Treanor, 83, of Palatine for 55 years, will be from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM on Tuesday, August 24, 2021 at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Hwy., Palatine.   Family and friends will meet directly at St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church, 1201 E. Anderson Drive, Palatine, at 10:00 AM, Wednesday, August 25, 2021 for the Funeral Mass.  The Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery, Palatine.

John was born on February 28, 1938 to Patrick and Eileen Treanor.  He passed away on Saturday, August 21, 2021.

John was a long time parishioner of St. Thomas of Villanova Catholic Church. He will be remembered as a great conversationalist and for his quick wit. He enjoyed his family and friends immensely and was very proud of his Irish heritage. Professionally, he concluded a long career in engineering working for the Village of Arlington Heights.

John was survived by his beloved wife of 59 years, Maureen Treanor; loving father of Sheila (Joseph) Conroy, the late Ellen Mary Harmon,  Colleen (Timothy) Little, Katy (Brian) Paulson and Bridget Treanor; dear grandfather of Joe, Maureen, Bridget, Brendan, Anna, Emma, Ian, Laura, Daniel, Benjamin, Hannah, Maggie, Jack, Grace, Dan, Eileen, John, Tommy, Jillian, Brenna, Caley, Nora, and Sheila; fond brother of Ed (Joan) Treanor; he is also survived by his son-in-law, Dave (Wendy) Harmon, and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, memorials, in honor of John, may be made to St. Thomas of Villanova Church.
