John “Jack” Gordon, age 75, of Palatine, Illinois, passed away peacefully on June 24, 2025, after a courageous battle with cancer. Arrangements will be made privately.
Jack was born to the late Thomas Sr. and Alice Gordon and was one of six brothers. He is lovingly remembered by his surviving brothers, Thomas Jr. (Joan) and Brian (Jeannie); his cherished goddaughter, Nadia (Bobby) Lentz; and his many beloved nieces and nephews, all of whom he treated as his own. He was preceded in death by his brothers Dennis (Chris), Bill (Hong), and Jim (Karen).
Though cancer ultimately took his life, it never dimmed the quiet strength, kindness, and gentle soul that defined Jack. Even in his final days, he remained ready to lend a helping hand and continued to show deep care for others.
Jack had a profound love for nature, especially the serenity of gardens and forests. He found peace among the trees and joy in tending to the earth. His appreciation for the natural world reflected the quiet, steady way he lived his life—rooted in patience, humility, and generosity.
He will be deeply missed by all who knew and loved him.
In honor of Jack’s love for nature, his family kindly asks that you plant a tree or some flowers in his memory—something that brings you joy or reminds you of him. Let it grow as a living tribute to the kindness and quiet strength he shared with the world.
