Jerome J. Blazek

Visitation for Jerome J. “Jerry” Blazek, age 74, of Lake in the Hills IL, will be held April 6, 2026, from 10:00 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Service 12:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine IL, 60067. The Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine. Family and friends are welcome to attend to celebrate Jerry’s life.

Jerry was born on May 13, 1951, in Chicago, IL, to the late Joseph and Anna Blazek. He passed away peacefully on March 31, 2026, surrounded by loved ones. Jerry attended William Taft High School, later attaining a finance degree, and pursuing a lifelong career in telecommunications. Starting at Motorola for 23 years, Jerry went on to establish his own consulting firm, Telecom Property Consulting. Jerry was an avid golfer and enjoyed participating and coaching baseball and hockey with his sons. Jerry first started coaching juniors hockey in 1980, for the Franklin Park Jets, later competing in a National Championship. Jerry went on to coach with the Northwest Chargers, as well as Fremd High school, where his strong values and leadership made a lasting impression for countless young athletes. Jerry was a passionate musician and shared his love of music and guitars with his sons.

Jerry was the beloved husband for 46 years of Janice Blazek; loving father of Bryan Blazek and Jonathan Blazek (wife Sarah Smietana); cherished grandfather of Waylon Blazek.
