Jean Wohler

Jean Wohler, 95, was born on October 25, 1928. She passed away peacefully on April 13, 2024.

Jean was the loving wife of Richard A. Wohler, who died in 2001; dear mother of Cheryl, Barbara (Dan), Carol (Dave), Rick (Sue), and Gary (Dina); fond grandmother of Brittany, Tara, Brad, Ryan, Justin, Eric, Danielle, Kyle, James, Brandon, and Krista; and cherished great grandmother of Ophelia, Aubrey, Henry, and Isla.

A warm thank you to Cedar Lake Assisted Living in Lake Zurich, IL, for their care, love and concern. Jean was feisty and active to the end.

Jean and her husband Dick met at Steinmetz High School and, went on to have five children. They built their family home in Itasca, Illinois and raised all five children there. When it was time for both to retire, they moved to Oldsmar, Florida (a suburb of Tampa) and thoroughly enjoyed each and every day there. Jean enjoyed working at Arlington Park Racetrack in the food concessions department after her children were on their own, along with the sounds of winning jackpots from slot machines and the excitement of Las Vegas. The family celebrated her 70th birthday in Las Vegas and she loved it.

Per Jean’s wishes, no services will be held.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations are made to Shriner's Children's Hospital, an organization that both Jean and Dick felt strongly about.

Since so many friends and family preceded her in death, the family finds comfort knowing that they will all be waiting for her at the door to heaven along with her husband, Dick.
