With love and sorrow, the family of Jean M. Roesslein announces her passing in Carver, MN, on August 10, 2025. Funeral Services will be private.
Jean was born in Barrington, IL, on September 22, 1929, grew up in Palatine, IL, and raised her family, alongside her husband, Louis, in Barrington. With the exception of a few years, she spent her entire life in Barrington and Palatine.
Jean was a kind, warm, and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, sister, aunt, and friend. She was preceded in death by her husband, Louis, her siblings, Bill Schwank, Sandi Wiggins, and Jack Schwank; and her sisters-in-law, Fran Schwank and Betty Schwank.
Jean will live on in the hearts of her family. She will always be cherished by her children, Mike (Joni) Roesslein, and Debbie (Terry) Schwarting. Her grandchildren will remember and love her always for her patience (especially when all five of them were together!) and the creator of wonderful memories — Kari (Aaron) Yerkes, Kyle (Liz) Schwarting, Kevin (Jessica) Schwarting, Brian (Alexis) Roesslein, and Clayton (Rikki) Roesslein. The pride and joy she felt for her great-grandchildren Hudson and Harper Yerkes, Arlo and Adelie Schwarting, and Carson and Dylan Roesslein was obvious from the smile and glow on her face each time she talked or visited with them.
Even after moving to Minnesota at the age of 90, Jean’s brothers and sisters-in-law, Don, Charlie, Loretta, and Marilyn Schwank were always in her heart. Family meant everything to Jean. She loved their phone conversations and visits ~ especially when reminiscing about old times. All the phone calls, cards, gifts, and visits from her loving nieces and nephews meant so very much to her. Their kindness was immeasurable.
Jean will be missed more than words could describe.
She was a lover of all animals, and she never missed an opportunity to take care of a pet of a family member or friend. It was Jean’s wish that you please make a donation to the animal shelter of your choice.
