Janet L. Marshall

A Memorial Service for Janet L. Marshall, 70, of Palatine, will be held at 11:30 a.m. on Sunday, June 5, 2022, at St. Peter United Church of Christ, 47 Church Street, Lake Zurich, with a luncheon to immediately follow.

Jan passed away in the early morning of Tuesday, May 24, 2022, while under hospice care at Northwest Community Hospital of Arlington Heights.

Jan was born on October 17, 1951, to Warren “Mike” and Marie Young (nee Baade).  She was their only child.  Janet was a long-term resident of Barrington, Illinois and attended Barrington schools graduating in 1969.  She attended Illinois State University and graduated with a degree in Physical Education.  Jan had a great love of most sports and excelled in badminton, tennis, racquetball, and swimming.  Since 2014, Jan has resided in Palatine, Illinois.  While in good health, she was very active in her church.  She enjoyed playing handbells, bible study, dominos, picnics with her friends and trips to Door County, WI.

Jan was the beloved mother of Jodie (Joseph) Marshall-Salazar, cherished “Gramma” of Jordyn Salazar and “Mama” to her fur baby, Bella Marie.

In lieu of flowers, please send donations to the American Kidney Fund at the request of Jan, as she was the recipient of close to ten years of financial support while on dialysis during the last years of her life.  She was extremely appreciative that said support enabled her to continue her life and enjoy what she loved most…her family and friends.
