James passed away on January 23, 2019.
He was born in Elgin, Illinois, and was the son of Bernard and Eunice Thiel. He is survived by his wife of forty years, Karen Thiel; brother B. Joseph Thiel, sister Noreen (Dean) Hansen and brother-in-law Dean (Kimberly) Southworth; daughter Kelly (Steven) Schneck, step daughter Sheryl (Steven) Dolgin and step son Timothy Harris; nine grandchildren: Tamara (Josh) Bryant, Keats Dolgin, Erica (David) Zerby, Michael Harris, Eliot Dolgin, Sarah Harris, David Schneck, Matthew Schneck and Kelsey Schneck; five great grandchildren: Alec Parthe-Bryant, Braelyn Bryant, Tallulah Bryant, Jessica Shattuck and Jordan Shattuck.
