James R. Barnas

A Memorial Visitation for James R. Barnas, 78, of Lac De Flambeau, WI formerly of Lake Zurich, IL will be held Friday, December 12, 2025, from 4:00 to 6:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 415 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich, IL 60-047. The Interment will be private.

James was born November 28, 1947, in Chicago and passed away December 6, 2025, in Barrington.

James was the beloved husband of the late Devra D. (nee Bredar) Barnas (2008); loving father of Darcy (Pelayo) Barnas, Deena (Zissman) Barnas, Darin Barnas and Devin Barnas; loving grandfather of Summer, Brandon, Demi, Elliott, Sophia, Sofia, Xavier, Carter, Maddox, Dawn and Danielle; dear son of the late Stanley and Anne (nee Cibula) Barnas.

James “Barney” “JB” “Jim” - was a Chicago White Sox fan, an avid fisherman, lover of the North Woods, gardener and photographer. He was always playing a game of scrabble or reading any newspaper. He enjoyed making home-cooked meals for his family and the occasional bowl of ice cream for dessert. JB graduated from UofWisconsin - Superior with honors (Gold Tassel) which he never let us forget. He built his family with Devra, who he now joins in a better place.
