Jack M. Schuett

August 29, 1951 — March 4, 2022

Funeral Services and Inurnment for Jack Martin Schuett, 70, of Woodridge, IL, will be held Monday, March 14, 2022 at 11:30 a.m. at Ridgewood Cemetery, 9900 N. Milwaukee Avenue, Des Plaines.

On the evening of Friday March 4th 2022, at home with his family gathered close, Jack passed away.  It was about two years after his battle with cancer had begun.

Jack was born on August 29, 1951 to Martin and Violet Schuett.   He grew up on a farm in Half Day, Illinois with his brother David Schuett (1944-1997) and lost his own parents at a young age.  From 1971-1973, he served in the armed forces and was stationed in Berlin.  In 1974, he began a 30-year career as a firefighter, becoming Assistant Fire Chief for the Linconshire-Riverwoods Fire Department.

Jack was sentimental, kind, and quiet.  He had a good heart and would help anyone in need.  The Lord bestowed him with the skills to build and repair while Menards supplied him with every tool known to humankind.  He also enjoyed bargains, reselling antiques and collectables and the great north woods of Wisconsin.  His grandchildren will miss Papa; they were his last and greatest joy.

Jack was the loving husband of Diana Schuett for 34 years; dear father of Andrew (Allison), Samantha (Daniel) Perzyna, Michael (Krista) Kruger; and fond grandfather of Carson, Abigail, Harvey, Leo, and Gemma.
