Helen P. Messina

Visitation for Helen Patricia “Pat” Messina, 91, of Palatine, will be held on Thursday, September 26, 2019 from 3:00 PM until 8:00 PM at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. Mass will be celebrated on Friday, 10:00 AM at St. Thomas Catholic Church, 1201 E. Anderson Drive, Palatine. An Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Catholic Cemetery, Palatine.

Pat was born on July 13, 1928 in New York, NY and was peacefully called to the Lord on Tuesday, September 24, 2019.

Pat was an avid golfer, gardener, duplicate bridge player, and published poet. Yet, her first love was, of course, her family.

Pat was the loving wife of the late Joseph; mother of Robin (Ronald ) Hein, Cynthia Messina, Joseph (Annette) Messina and the late Dare Messina; grandmother of John, Courtney, Ron III, Christie, Michael, Tony, Dan, Tom and Lauren; great grandmother of Sam, Chloe, Phia, Hailey, Tabby, Joey, Teagan, Kendall, Patrick, Anthony, Lucca, Nico and friend of many.

In lieu of flowers, donations will be appreciated to the Joseph A. Messina II Aviation Explorers Scholarship. Checks can be made out to SIU Foundation.
