George, 95 years old, passed away peacefully in his sleep on April 28, 2026, surrounded by his loving family. George was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 12, 1930 to Crispin and Maria Naranjo. He was the second youngest child of 13 brothers and sisters. He spent his early childhood in Mexico, and moved to Chicago in his teenage years, growing up on the City’s west side. He met the love of his life, Raquel, at Chicago’s Aragon Ballroom. They married on October 31, 1953, and moved to the Humboldt Park neighborhood, where they started their family. Their family grew to five daughters and one son. Eventually moving their family to Streamwood.

George was kind, generous and thoughtful. Whether as a son, brother, husband, father, grandfather, or great grandfather, George demonstrated his love for his family through his actions. George never hesitated to come to the rescue of his children, whether it was to perform a late-night emergency car repair, pick up a stranded child, or provide compassionate counselling to solve life’s problems. George gave his children a good foundation to become successful in life, by teaching them responsibility and good values. And by example, he showed them how to treat other people with compassion and kindness. He was always available to lend a helping hand to family, friends and neighbors. George was a dog lover and loved to play golf. He also loved baseball and the Chicago Cubs.

George is preceded in death by his beloved wife, Raquel. George is survived by his children, Martha (Tom), Rosemary (Jim), Gloria (Marc), Patricia (Kevin), Ana (Peter) and George (Grace).
