Frederick was the loving husband of the late Anne, of Palatine; cherished father of Deborah (the late Chris) Keyes, Susan Nay, the late James (Mary Beth) and Mary Louise (Mark) Shreffler; beloved grandfather of Shannon and Kevin Keyes, Ashley Nay, Max and Michael McWilliams and Emily Shreffler; great grandfather toShane Scott; fond brother of the late Carol McWilliams, Chuck McWilliams, Maryanne McWilliams and Bonnie Straton.

Fred graduated from Northwestern University as a chemical engineer and worked at Universal Oil Products (UOP) in Des Plaines.
