Erica A. Maurizio

Visitation for Erica Ann Maurizio, 72, of Lake Zurich, will be on Tuesday, August 18, 2026, from 10:00 to 11:00 a.m. at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Parish, 33 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich with a Funeral Mass at 11:00 AM. The Interment will follow at St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.

Erica passed away Tuesday, August 11, 2026. She was born in 1954 in Chicago to Joan and Anthony "Tony" Maurizio, Erica grew up in Palatine and graduated from Palatine High School in 1972. She married Ellen Louise Standiford in May 1976, beginning a devoted 50-year partnership.

Professionally, she built her career as a project manager for a commercial construction company.

At home, weekends were spent taking immaculate care of her house, cars, and lawn, ensuring they were the envy of the neighborhood. Never intimidated by a complex project, she always kept her hands busy. Model cars and computers came apart and went back together on the workbench; the smell of homebrew filled the air, and the Chicago Cubs were on TV.

She is survived by her spouse, Ellen; sons, Anthony M. and Robert (Laura); and granddaughter, Zoey.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Joan and Tony, and her brother, Mark.
