Emil I. Widitz

A Funeral Mass for Emil I. Widitz, 91, of Kildeer, will be said on Monday, December 5, 2022, at 11:00 am at St. Francis de Sales Catholic Church, 33 S. Buesching Road, Lake Zurich, IL. The Interment will be held privately at a later date.

Emil was born in 1931 in Stiring-Wendel, France. He lived there until the age of 7, when he returned with his family to their previous home in Kaindorf, Austria, where he learned the electrical trade. He emigrated to the U.S. in 1956, to Chicago, IL, where he continued in this field, later becoming an electrical engineer. He retired at the age of 71, after 45 years with Barr Electric Corporation.

He was a loving & devoted husband, father, & friend.

Emil is survived by his wife of 65 years, Luise (nee Strauss); sons, Eric (Janice) & Ronald (Kathy)Widitz; grandchildren, Owen, Emilie, (Josh) Calvin,(Heidi), Peter, & Conrad.

He is preceded in death by his parents, Franz and Theresia Widitz; & his sisters, Albine & Getrude (Widitz) Schgeiner, & 3 brothers.
