Ellen M. Neubauer

The Visitation for Ellen M. Neubauer (nee Power), 89, of Palatine since 1955, will be held Thursday, February 14, 2019 from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine. Prayers will be said Friday, February 15, 2019, 9:30 a.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, Palatine, and then proceeding to St. Theresa Catholic Church, 455 N. Benton Street, Palatine, for a Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. The Interment will follow at St. Joseph Cemetery, River Grove.

Ellen was born June 17, 1929 in Chicago and passed away February 8, 2019 in Palatine.

She was the beloved wife of the late Thomas J. Neubauer; loving mother of Thomas (Eve) Neubauer, the late Linda Neubauer, Judi ( Ned) Zieman, Mary Jo (Greg) Brown, Daniel (Sue) Neubauer, Steven Neubauer, the late Joseph Neubauer and Elizabeth (Dieter) Rosch; loving grandmother of Kelly, Colleen, Lynn, Suzi, Lesia, Jessica, Kasey, Kevin, Justin, Kristin, Alison, Steven, Grace, Brendon, Melissa; loving great-grandmother of 11 great-grandchildren; dear daughter of the late Joseph and Ella (nee Ditman) Power. Ellen was preceded in death by five brothers and one sister.

Ellen loved going to the horse races at Arlington Racetrack and playing poker with her family and friends. Since high school, she had a group of friends called the Loafers and they continued to meet regularly through the years. She worked at the Village of Palatine for many years as an administrator and always had a smile on her face for the villagers who came in. Ellen was a big Cubs fan, and was so happy when they won the World Series in 2016.
