Edmund was born on September 17, 1931, to Edmund Prouty Sr. and Beulah Prouty in Elgin Il. He passed away on Monday, January 12, 2026, at 9:58 pm holding his daughter's hand.
His story here has left a mark on everyone he met, knew or loved. He lived his life from his heart and love for life. His priority was his children until the very last breath. His deep love for God, was what led him in this life, and it was received by God and he was given mercy during his final hours. There is no doubt he was met at the Gates of Heaven, by all who left before him.
We lived with a legend here on earth. He lived out his dreams in full force. He didn’t waste a minute of his precious time. He was an athlete to the core. Pitching for the Chicago Cubs proved that. His record got recorded not long after that. His voice sang the most beautiful songs to anyone who would listen, and there is no doubt that he is finally singing again in heaven. His talents didn’t stop there. As you look through his life through his paintings, you realize he loved life and everything that came in between.
He will be so missed here, in the physical world by so many. The memories run deep so differently for each of us, as we think of him we will remember, the smile that never left his face, his hugs, his stories, playing ball with the neighborhood kids, playing guitar and harmonica, painting in his chair, going to Walmart, the red Camaro, bribing people with chocolate stars, the random bouquets of flowers, the Dairy Queen ice cream cones, our trips to Koffee Kup, the laundry days, sitting under his favorite tree in Robinson City Park, jumping over the cracks in the road, the way he was so proud of all we did, and the love for his family.
As his children, we were so blessed and lucky to have HIM for our Daddy. We are his biggest fans, and we know his biggest talent was being our father and he proved it every day.
We will never be the same in this lifetime without him, but we are better people for being a part of him.
