Edith M. Kane (Nee Brant)

Visitation for Edith Marie Kane (nee Brant) 85, of Palatine since 1955, will be held, Wednesday, January 20, 2016, from 3:00 until 8:00 p.m. at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, 201 N. Northwest Highway, Palatine.  Prayers will begin at 9:30 a.m., Thursday, January 21, 2016 also at the Ahlgrim Family Funeral Home, Palatine, and proceed to St. Theresa Catholic Church, 455 N. Benton Street, Palatine, for the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m.  The Interment will follow in St. Michael the Archangel Cemetery, Palatine.

Edie was the last original surviving homeowner in Fairgrounds Park Subdivision, Palatine.  She was a member of St. Theresa Church and a member of the Golden Villanovans at St. Thomas of Villanova Church.  Also, she was an avid Chicago Blackhawks fan.

Beloved wife of the late Joseph P. Kane; loving mother of Thomas Kane and Kathleen (Brian Anderson) Kane; loving grandmother of Kevin Kane; dear daughter of the late Vincent and Helen (nee Stahl) Brant; fond sister of the late Marion Ritter and Elinor Segin; caring mother-in-law of Dorothy Kane.  She was really loved by all her nieces and nephews, cousins, neighbors and friends.  Edie was genuinely kind and a real special lady.

In lieu of flowers, memorials would be appreciated to the charity of one’s choice.
