Echo was born November 4, 1941 in Chicago, and she passed away Thursday, February 4, 2021 in Lake Barrington.

Echo was the beloved wife of the late Roger E. Hedberg Sr. They were happily married for 41 years; she was the loving mother of Roger E. Jr. (Karen) Hedberg and Deneen  (Jeffrey) Crites; loving grandmother of Amanda, Amy (Nick) Oliva, Haley (David) Seyller, Kyle Crites, Logan and Brooke Hedberg; loving great-grandmother of Kensley Seyller and Wyatt Oliva; dear daughter of the late Frank Sr. and Daisy (nee Wakefield) Hjelm; fond sister of Peggy, Helen and Frank Jr. Hjelm.

Echo was a caring home maker best known as an avid bowler and golfer, who also loved to play poker and have a good time. She’ll be most remembered for her charming and outspoken personality, who was generous to so many because she had a big heart. She loved to laugh and had a wild sense of humor that will be missed by all who knew her.  She was a strong woman who fought hard to live; who had overcame many hardships in life, but sadly lost her battle to cervical cancer.  But her life was filled with the many more blessings of time spent with her family and friends whom she loved and shared her life with, including her loving companion of 15 years, Mr. Gene Jasionowski. She was as unique as her name… Echo, you are unforgettable in every way.  Your suffering is over. You will be greatly missed. May you rest in peace with Jesus and your loved ones who’ve gone before you.
